The whole point of changing feeders (again) was to avoid both doves and squirrels. I don't dislike doves, but if the feeder is comfortable, they can stay on it all day and keep all other birds away, and that's not an option in my book.
So, I looked for an 'uncomfortable' feeder, i.e. one with narrow trays so they could land on it but not stick around too long. As you can see, doves still fit on the feeder - barely - but it's a little narrow for them so they can eat but not stay on all day. Mission accomplished!
