still gives a sense of scale with 2 pictures. i am trying out an online tool and i will let you know how i go

what software do you use?

Well at first I tried Irfvanview but it just plucks them together and you aren't able have them lined up. Then I tried PhotoPad free version. NCH software. I wanted to also make the background transparent as well.

@kali66 i am so intrigued to know how you set up the flower and butterfly. With the lighting and the black background, it so good.

mmm i am finding it hard to get something happening, i usually use photoshop which does a really good job.
that butterfly shot is straight out of camera, i had the camera set to black and white on P setting and just aimed and fired, was a sunny day and the hedge behind was in shadow, lucky i guess!
