Vintage door on a sad day

This building is in the process of being torn down. It was hoped the building could be used for something but it wasn't meant to be. I'm told wedding and prom pictures have been taken in front of that door. It's a sad day.

Someone asked what is going to happen to the land there. This building is next to a community center. I am told they will probably put a swimming pool of some kind there. We'll see.

I posted a picture of the building back on May 7, 2011. You can see it here:

That door does look like a neat background, I'm glad you got to capture it before it gets torn down.

That's always sad to see. So many wonderful places I've seen and they're only a memory now. That's why taking photos of every thing is good!

How sad that a bit of history is going and a place for photo ops, glad you immortalised its last days though!

I hate when things are taken down that could be used and hold sentimental value. Well, you do have nice pictures of it. Perhaps the doors could be salvaged or bought.

Always sad to see something like being torn down

I get sad when buildings are knocked down too. Many 'old' (less than 50yrs) buildings around here are being knocked down so developers can put multiple huge houses on the blocks. Gardens and green areas are disappearing and the whole character of the place is changing. I hope whatever they replace your building with fits in and supports the community.

Sad, but a part of modern life. Things move so fast.

Nice photo and I can see why they used that door for photos. It is awesome. Too bad change like this has to happen.
