My dad painted this many, many years ago. I remember it hanging on the dining room wall when I was growing up and it has a lot of sentimental value to me. I thought I would share it today for today's word of "woman" since it is International Women's Day.
@quietpurplehaze
Thank you Hazel. I have many paintings that were my dad's. I have some hanging in different rooms of the house and after he passed away, many of my relatives took some of his paintings to hang in their houses.
@glenda_b
Thank you Glenda. I don't recognize the people in the painting. They are not anyone in our family. This is one of those questions I wish I had thought to ask my dad while he was living. I don't know the story behind this painting.
How lovely and how interesting. I'm going to bookmark this pic to show to my auntie who lives in Cornwall and who paints, but in a different style from your dad. Thank you again.
Marilyn, what an awesome painting and such a beautiful reminder of your dad and the perfect photo for women's day, which I didn't realize until today that it was yesterday! Oh well I did get our Mrs. Bear in there, so guess that counts ;-) Seriously, your dad was a great artist. Dads are so wonderful....I sure miss mine.
@cimes1@mjmaven@ladydi53 Thank you so much for your wonderful comments on my dad's painting.
Diana - I don't recognize the people in the painting so they are not family members. I wish I did know the history of it and wish I had thought to ask my dad when he was living.
@sailingmusic Thank you Myrna. Unfortunately, I've never had any talent for painting like my dad had. He was excellent at drawing pictures, too, and I was never good at that either.
I had the same thought. It really is wonderful. Do you have any other paintings which your father did? Thank you for sharing it with us.
