paper wasp nest

Driving by a local church we saw this huge wasp nest on the side of the building......that's a light fixture that it's attached to.

Yikes!!!!!!! we get these in our letterbox and i keep destroying them, but they still kept trying until i sprayed the letterbox with surface spray...... i won. lol

Yikes. My mom had one of these growing inside his outdoor light at her back door. I got a big can of wasp spray and listened to them buzz inside. I got them all but wow it was a little frightening.

Wow ...thats a large nest - l wouldn't like to disturb it - it looks a bit like a tribal mud mask from New Guinea !!

Great capture...I love the heart shape at the entrance to the nest. I guess this church is true to the stance that "All are welcome".
