Great shot. I have traveled over Alligator Alley so many times and never saw any gators until this past Friday. There must have been dozens sunning themselves on the banks.
@rosiekind@annepann@danette - thank you all for visiting and commenting. Rosie...this gator was about 10 feet away and on the other side of a guardrail. He(she) was a big one! I'm not really afraid of them but I definitely respect them and use lots of caution. Danette, I think we've only seen gators on Alligator Alley 2 or 3 times. If you travel Tamiami Trail I'd almost guarantee you'll see many of them. We saw this guy on Turner Rd off rte 41....another venture into the depths of the glades.
