Found this guy on a short drive looking for photo-ops today. Did an internet search to ID him/her. What I learned is that I really know nothing about dragonflies! My best guess is this is a Blue Corporal. As a species they’re so much more colorful than I realized !
Check out Eastern Pondhawk (male) for the species. Dragonflies are incredible. I was unaware until a few years ago that there is more than one species of dragonfly. Now I am kind of a fanatic and can identify the most common species in my area.
@annepann - you’re probably right Anne. I posted another find from yesterday....any idea on the ID? These were both found in central MA and next to a slow moving river.
