@maggiemae .... The Mute Swan is the species name......it’s not actually mute but got this name because it’s less vocal than other species. They were introduced here in the U.S. from Europe. They’re a large bird (an adult can be about 25 pounds) and can also be pretty aggressive, particularly with young cygnets nearby. Still a beautiful bird !
