In February 2011 I quit a job I had been doing for 7 years to make some big decisions. Do I move? Do I sell my house? Do I rent it out? Shall I have a gap year or two? Where do I want to live? About 3 weeks ago I decided I wanted to sell but still don't know where I will go or what I will do, That decision was step one. Step two - yesterday and this morning I had 2 estate agents round to give me an idea of what the value of the house was..........and this afternoon I met with a friend to look at a house she was interested in, And this was the view from the bedroom. I could live somewhere like this! I would love to live somewhere where I could see and hear the sea. Still very early days but very exciting!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xorNjvg1B48&feature=fvwrel
Moira, welcome to my world. it's just what I am doing. Hence my month long trip to Tuscany. I'm not sure where I want to be, what I want to do, or what's to become of me. So it's going to be an adventurous year. I wish you the best. And yes, this looks like a cool place to live. I live at the beach now. I do love that.
@ptowncook Good luck to you too! Just started following @leananiemand who @thebluegnu recommended in a discusion. Not sure I could do it on a bike but the world is out there. Your Italian photos have been great looks like you have been having a fabulous time.
I sold up everything including my business 3.5 years ago. I kept my house and my office and rent them out. I'm feeling liberated and have realised that there's more to life than all the material stuff. I'm happier now than I have ever been and all I have is a suitcase of clothes and a camera! I wish you well on your 'journey' - may it be filled with many exciting adventures, beautiful people and memory-making experiences. May it all be good. :)
We're selling to Moira - and heading to the outskirts of a city - something I have wanted to do now for years. I love live shows, music, markets, coffees with friends, shopping, visiting etc all of which were doable from here but usually involving overnight stays and lots of hours in a car. We still have to sell our house, but we are really excited at the prospect of what lies ahead. It's really liberating and I think we have shocked a few people who thought we would remain here forever. The view from this place looks well worth the bother of moving. Good luck. Keep us posted.
Wow , how brave you are, good on you for doing this , how wonderful to live somewhere like this ...good luck in all aspects of your life ...looking forward to see where your life leads you :)

The view from that house is the kind that I would want one day too. Good luck.
