After a hiking day, today another ski-"expedition". This time to a remote area about 30km away (with skies), which my husband and I call "cold and hidden valley". Few people take the arduous journey, and so it was today, on an indeed very cold but sunny day, not crowded. There have been quite a few highlights today. The amazing view from the top of the Lagazuoi Mountain. Second, that when you are back in the valley, there is the possibility that horse sleights with long ropes pull you back the 2 kilometers to the next connecting ski lift. For sure great fun. However, a highlight for us is certainly the turquoise icefalls right at the slopes. Certainly not a great photo, but for us a very special sight, I would like to have in my 365 project. Normally I take care, that there are no or not too many people in my landscape pictures, but here they are colorful dots and also good for a scale.
Thanks a lot for the nice comments and favs, for yesterday’s ice circle picture.
Mona, I think the people actually ADD to this picture. It would be difficult to envision the grand scale of this amazing sight without them. I also like how their postures are displaying awe and amazement as well. This is truly beautiful.
This is just magnificent!!! I agree that the people in the image give the ice falls their true magnitude. Thank you for sharing your wonderful vacation with us on 365!
WOW, what an amazing journey you are on. The world is definitely a big and beautiful place. I think the people need to be there, as you would not understand the magnitude of the rock wall and ice. Awesome capture! FAV
Great place to ski!
