My dad had today the vernissage and opening of his exhibition with his watercolour/aquarelle paintings. Situated in a beautiful gallery in one of the old houses in our old town. This is the view over the rooftops of our old town.
The tower you can see in the far end, belongs to our towns oldest church. It was built in the 13th century at the same time as the first city walls.
From the outside, the Liebfrauenkapelle was a bulwark forming part of the edge of the city, with a somewhat surprising delicately decorated interior, showing aspects of both the Late Gothic period, with its murals, and the Baroque period, with the scenes depicting the life of the Virgin Mary.
How very exciting for your Dad! I really enjoyed reading your commentary, and I love the way you framed this image. Such a unique look at the beautiful rooftops so rich in history!
This is so beautiful and atmospheric. I feel as if a character from Grimm's fairy tales is going to open that window ay any moment and stick his or her head out. Fav for me!

Great framing, what amazing history you have in and around your town, thank you for sharing!
