Today we had what we call Aprilwetter = April Weather.
April weather is "capricious", means rapid changes of rain, snow, clouds and sunshine. However todays April weather was a lot of heavy snow and rain, followed by snow and rain, and only very little sunshine.
Outside it was wet and cold. So we made just a short stroll down to the lake, and came home completely soaked.
But we have had our amount of sunshine in form of blood oranges.
I love blood oranges and the black background is a great contrast. It really highlighted the gorgeous orange colour and allows us to take in the finer details. Love your style of photography @mona65
@LaLa How to get the backdrop so black? It was a black backdrop. Actually a black fleece blanket ;-), and the light was directed toward the camera. A halogen spot sent light throug the orange slice, a highly diffused off-camera flash gave little more light to the whole scene, and a tiny front spot enlighted the rim of the slice. I normally try to use only natural light. So this was kind of a special session, as I needed a higher shutter speed, because of the drop.
@mona65 That is awesome - I'll have to play with lighting more. Usually just do outdoors so lighting studio is all new to me. Learning something new everyday in 365.
@LaLa My shot is far away from made in a lighting studio. Except of the flash, everything I use are houshold items. Fleece blanket, halogen spot from a swedish furniture house, papier and a white blanket as diffusor, all on our eating table. If you would see the setup you would laughing out loud.
