Actually I was after a more zoological pic with these Egyptian geese (Alopochen aegyptiacus) as subject. But then a mother with her baby entered my frame and I changed my mind. Thanks a lot, makes for a totally different and great deal more interesting shot.
Interesting for me: the Egyptian goose initially comes from Africa where it lives along subtropical rivers and lakes which are rich of nutrients. In Europe this species was kept in captivity since the 18th century. A free-living population originating from escaped birds in the Netherlands grew rapidly and spread quickly along the Rhine River and his tributaries. In Switzerland the species started to breed regularly in 2003.
You certainly made the most of your photobombers! The Mama and her little one are perfectly positioned and add an interesting element to this beautiful scene. I love your choice to use black and white, and I really enjoyed your commentary. Thanks for providing the interesting information about the Egyptian geese. FAV!
Fantastic silhouette! You took good advantage of the changed situation. 'Photobomber' suggests you captured them accidentally which isn't correct. You were flexible enough to adjust to their presence and deliberately include them. Fav
