Well, of course it is an atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica), but if I translate literally from my language Papageitaucher, it would mean parrot diver. I think this is a cute name too, for one of my favorite birds.
Wonderful hike on Handa Island (Handa Island Wildlife Reserve). For me sure one of the highlights in Scotland. Seen many wonderful sea birds like guillemot, razorbills, puffins, different gulls, and most amazing for me arctic skuas. We never encountered skuas so near. Wonderful. And it was also dry for a while. (Accentuation on "a while", as we got later so wet,... so extremely wet, despite of double rain gear, you could have thought that we swam back from the island").
