"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." - Albert Camus
Leaves from my ginkgo tree in transition.
I love, love, love this tree, the shape of the leaves, the colours over the year and it's symbol for friendship.
My tree, the variety “Mariken” forms naturally a compact spherical shape. The deciduous curly leaves are like elephants ears, and slit at the center. Now, after the first frosty nights they turn bright yellow.
oh mona you have a way of surpassing even yourself. such a beautiful composition and clarity. now i really want a ginkgo tree - have done ever since i first saw one here on 365. no idea if it would grow in the uk?
Gorgeous! The local landscapers are just beginning to use these in parks and residential areas, so are unknown to many. I love them and have learned that they are supposedly the oldest tree on earth - their leaves were found in some very old fossils.
