A miniature of a "historic" Swiss mailman beetle in typical yellow and black, like our post is. Yellow.
Rosan @fntngrma asked me yesterday about the bokeh in the front of the picture. Yesterday, indeed I did add the front bokeh in post processing, to add some interest and a hue of a cold, pinkish colour to fit in my rainbow month concept. Today I did a pic with "natural" front bokeh. To show, that it is technically possible to add front bokeh too.
The more shallow the depth-of-field, or further away the fore- or background is, the more out-of-focus it will be. This works front or back. With an aperture of 2.8, the line where this picture is sharp is about 2 mm. So the rest gets blurry. If you have subjects in your picture, reflecting/refracts light, you will get a lovely bokeh. For front bokeh it is best to shoot through material that reflects said light and is kind of transparent. In this case I used what we call angelhair (Golden curly x-mas lametta.) Of course it would show more with a dark background, but today is yellow, so you get yellow.
Please get in touch with me, if you have questions about my explanation.
Hi Rosan @fntngrma, you have been totally right, yesterdays bokeh was addet in post processing. But it is technically possible to add bokeh in the front. Please see the explanation in the description of todays picture. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
This is terrific, cool processing, lovely bright colour yellow.
