I do not know why I insisted to visit the Fairy Pools on Isle of Skye? Such a crowd,... after so many days more or less alone on every hike I felt a bit overwhelmed by this mass of people and we even added 2 more! Well it is a beautiful place and we just kept on walking upstream and after the first view points suddenly the people became less and less and soon we have been alone with the little river and its turquoise water.
Glorious image. Fav. We had the same experience last year - most folk did not venture beyond the lower pool, and we had the highest pool and river (and descending mist!) to ourselves. Fav
Beautiful pool. Worth the extra distance. We used to backpack in the Sierras at a place called Loch Leven Lakes. We would pass all these “tent cities” at the first two lakes, but by going to the third we had our own quiet place.
Fabulous Fav! And the weather looks great. I did this hike, jumping from rock to rock, whenI visited Skye last summer. What a magical place. Your photo brings back special memories. Enjoy Scotland!
@777margo Yes I did, not at this place though. Fairies hide, if there are to many people chatting and swearing. But there are lots of places, where you are surrounded by magic in Scotland. 😉
