I dropped one of my +250 bottles with samples of sand collected on my travels, while showing them on an awesome zoom meeting to a friend on the other side of the Atlantic.
Before I put what I could collect and blended with fine Swiss dust, it in a new bottle. I replay the scene and capture it for my daily pic. ;-)
Making the best I can, out of a lil' mishap. BOB if you care and have the time.
Fantastic on black; it really draws you in. It is nice that you still have the label showing so the sand and the collection is not wasted but possibly more artfully exhibited! And it looks so natural.
I am sad for the breaking of this precious little treasure bottle, but so happy that you were able to recreate this moment in such a creative way. This is a memory we will both share. :)
Fantastic image. Did you use the broken bottle and just drop sand again or was this somehow captured from the zoom session. (I know next to nothing about zoom, can you record while you are chatting? ) No, wait, I see you took it with your Sony camera so, a recreation?

Thanks for your comments, but you do not need to be sorry. It's just the little bottle that broke. All fine again, I have a stock of little bottles and what I could safe of the sand, is bottled up and on the shelf again. And this is a totally staged and composed picture. I even used a off camera flash to stop the motion of the sand. So the mishap was just the inspiration of this. ;-)
@cocobella Isn't it amazing how different sand can be? Great you have a collection too,... I bet you have sand from exotic and warm places, while mine are mostly from beaches, where the water is frosty.
@mona65 we only picked it up when it’s allowed but we have realized it’s more and more forbidden (like Sardinia for exemple where I collected sea glasses instead). We have maybe 60 bottles and you’re right mostly from warm places ( beaches and deserts too ). I like seeing the different colors : from extra white to very dark black, but also a lot of brown- red tones, but my favorite is a pink sand bottle from French Polynesia , so unusual !
