In case you ever wondered how real indigo looks like? This is a little rest of natural indigo dye from the Indigofera tinctoria plant. I brought it home from one of my travels long, long ago (> 20 years). It is one of my favorite colours and this few little chunks are waiting patiently to have their appearance on "stage", whenever I take part in the rainbow month challenge.
Ooh! My, so wonderful, didn't think you could improve on yesterday's teal. The bokeh is just perfect, and I love that floating dish the pigment is in. Fav!
I love indigo. Such a beautiful colour. Years ago, so many years that I have forgotten all the details of what city, what art gallery, or what artist, I saw an installation that consisted of a series of ‘pod’ type things made of stone or cement, with hollow centres that were lined with indigo dye. The effect was so deep, so soft, so enticing, that Ijust wanted to crawl in and curl up inside them. Wish now I had paid more attention to who made them.
