2022-01-04 ridibundus

Black-headed Gulls (here in eclipse plumage) are regular visitors on our lakes and brighten many a grey winter’s day. It is hard to imagine winters without their acrobatic and skilful flights. The Black-headed Gull was given its scientific name "Larum ridibundus", ridibundus meaning “laughing" due to its chuckling or laughing calls.
Lovely capture

Very cool shot, works well in b&w. I like how they are not all facing the same way. There is always one!!

Isn't it funny how it seems there's always one facing the other direction.
