Ninot

The dummies which make up a falla are called "ninots". Today is their last day on the streets - this evening every one of them will be burnt. Tomorrow the city will be back to normal.
So cool

These are so beautifully made, it's a shame that they get burnt. Great colourful shot.

What a shame to burn something that looks so beautiful.

Great shot. The ninot looks wonderful. Does it add to their appeal by knowing they are burnt and new ones are made for next year?

@ginnys @busylady @pattyblue @merrelyn Thanks a lot!
@bruni Fallas are satiric - the idea is we criticise and burn what we don't like, hoping for a new, better beginning (in theory, they are celebrated in March, just welcoming spring - this year the dates changed because of covid). But, as there is a contest, the central body of the fallas is just beautiful, related to the topic they are criticising but based on building a great monument, with critical scenes all around. Also, these are huge things (some get to 14 meters high), so it would be impossible to keep them in the street forever
@fishers Of course, part of the magic is that they will only be on the streets for some days. From a practical point of view, it would be impossible to keep them, they are just too big and upset the normal life of the city. We put up with if for a few days, but longer it would be impossible. And they are made of wood and cardboard, no they wouldn't last long anyway.

so much details and dedication put to the Fallas. Understand the reason for the burning, sad
