Barkless trunk by monikozi

Barkless trunk

This tree trunk leans across a path. Unlike all the other trees around it, it has a very light color. When you get close, you notice it has been completely peeled off by pest. Woodworms have eaten it alive. These are the marks left by them. In March I'll post a colored version.
Such an amazing find and close up. Does it have any leaves?

@ludwigsdiana It is just a long straight thin trunk leaning across a path, but above, like an arch. So not on the ground.
Currently I can not say if it has leaves. It is winter time and only evergreens are green. But since it has no bark, I can not tell if it is an evergreen. I'll revisit it in a couple of months.

Thank you very much @ludwigsdiana @shutterbug49 @katford @onewing @casablanca @bmaddock @stiggle @delboy207 @pyrrhula and @dogwoman
Well, at least this is not man-made harm. It's nature.

Very interesting. It does not sound healthy for the tree, though.

Thank you, @aikiuser . I think for this particular tree it no longer matters. I think it is dead. I wonder if that might affect the trees around this one. Those seemed healthy (bark on and standing upright).
