The twist

This morning I spotted a different angle to try and capture the twist in this trunk.

I really have no clue what caused the twists. I have spotted some more like this, but not as twisted.
The other photo that was linked in the description, was taken right across this. if you think of the twisted tree as the center of a line, the two shots are taken from opposite points on either side of the trunk (not sure if this makes any sense at all).
