After sunset I had a go at the Live Composite function on my camera and the results were rather meh... (quite ok for the first attempts, but nothing spectacular). And after getting one of the images through Snapseed, I got this. And I really liked it.
@ljmanning Well, as i understand it, it is an image resulting from the stacking of the exposures in a time lapse. So, the camera takes a number of photos within a time frame (here it was 20 seconds, i think) and then composes one single image of them all. And it results in this silky aspect if there is something moving, like clouds or water. I guess it is an alternative to long exposure.
@delboy207 Maybe I'll try that some day. I did not think of that. When I gave light painting a try, I set the shutter speed to a certain time, and it was really difficult. But I guess this option would be much easier. Thanks for the tip.
The look of the clouds is really nice, just like you would get with a long exposure. I read your description of LC, you say that the shots were taken over 20 seconds. You must have used a tripod. I am not familiar with Olympus cameras but many people use them and really like them so I might have to add one to my collection.
@cdcook48 Yes, of course I used a tripod. I got my camera as it seemed light enough to carry around and it was affordable. The price was enough to keep my interest alive - as in enough not to make me neglect it and regret the money. I invested a bit in a couple of lenses. Not too much either. I have no comparison, so it is fine for me. I am thinking of buying a new one - another Olympus, because the battery and the lenses match. But I postpone that until the price gets as low as I want it to be. I am not too keen to buy another one, as I will definitely neglect one of them. And we know that the best camera is the one you use.
Thanks!
