The issue

I have an issue: my leading lines almost always lead to nowhere and nothing. Like in this one.
It does fit the mood of the rainy cold day - as you can see, there's nobody. Actually you can't see, since there is nobody. See my point? Of couse not. There is no point.

I find them great as they lead to the end of the road and are very interesting ones. What do the dotted lines mean?

@ludwigsdiana The left part of the wide sidewalk (perhaps the widest in the town) is marked as a bicycle path. And the dotted line divides the two lanes. (if you look carefully, about the middle pf the photograph, there are two arrows and two bikes printed).

This street is rarely so empty. It just happened to be like that because of the rain and of the cold. I am glad I took the chance. In fact, as I was taking that shot, there was already a person coming towards me from behind. I believe the guide lines help to create a sense of space in a flat image. They don’t have to point to something specific.

@borof Yes, maybe that is correct. My understanding was that they should lead the eye to the subject.
