Yesterday, I went outside to check on how my waterlogged garden was doing. There was a lot of rainwater collected and plants were florishing. I also had a rather large Blue Tongue Lizard lounging in the sun. When he spotted me coming along - without my camera as I wasn't there to photograph anything - he scurried back under the saucer he had been hiding under.
During the day, I went back out to make sure I hadn't scared him from my yard. Fortunately, I saw hi cute little nose poking out from under the saucer.
Then, last night, we had some really horrible winds and rain. I wondered if he was okay out there. This morning, I found him sunning himself again; and took a photo, before he hid under the saucer again.
I think I have a resident lizard as he seems very comfortable there. :)
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
Now you see I would have been doing everything in my power to make sure he moved on! But no, you want to make sure he stays! I can deal with little tiny things...just not huge guys like this! Good luck with that guy! Great capture!
@Carolyn: This lovely guy is around 40cm long and looks very well-fed. I do have a soft spot for these lizards as people around here think it's funny to run over them with their cars.
Blue Tongues are not pests - unlike the Cane Toad - and are just lovely to have in the garden. Over Summer I have around 4 hanging out in my Aloe Vera patch to get away from the feral cats of the neighbourhood.
