Mum and I took Little Miss Stevie to the vets for her annual check-up yesterday and she came home in worse condition than when she went.
We had a newbie for a vet who didn't listen when I said that my bird didn't like towels (and Little Miss Stevie freaked out at the sight of the blue towel! Climbing all over me and all over my chest) and then, once the vet had her in the towel, all my little bird did was struggle; which caused her to pull her leg... and as you can see it made her favour her left leg.
We made a complaint about what happened yesterday and Stevie's usual vet blames herself for not caring for her personally; but said that what was done was within the guidelines. And said that she will talk to the new vet saying that she will have to listen to owners about what their pets likes and dislikes are; seeing what happened to Stevie. I even said that this little darling has become more social over the last year and friendly.
Today, she's okay, but she's getting lots of cuddles because it take the weight off her feet and onto her back. Also, today, I made her fly around a bit to get her blood pumping enough to see how she lands; which is very clumsy.
I've had to feed her by hand and make sure she's okay before doing anything. I'm checking on her a few times a day as she's gone very quiet now. I hope she gets back to normal soon. :(
