Yesterday, after I returned home from a morning of volunteering at the Logan Art Gallery, I cleaned up the house ready for my next appointment: a visit from a representative of Pieroth Wines. The man and his apprentice showed me some lovely wines from 2009 that were priced between $20 - $30; and tasted beautiful (after all, you don't go by how they actually taste, but how they smell).
In the deal, I received a wicked set of 4 coffee mugs with matching ceramic spoons. How could I say no to that? And I didn't have to buy any vino either. I set up the munchies in case they wanted to eat anything ( the biscuits were put out when they arrived, I didn't forget them). The wine glasses were from my set I received on my 21st birthday from Aunty Helen and Uncle Kees. I don't use them often, but when I do, it's only on special occasions.
Even though I didn't buy any vino, I was given the ones I had tried out and a number of the man who had arrived in case I wished to in the future. It was a lovely afternoon of chatting about wines, travel and food.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
