Now, this is my saggy bookcase. A word of warning to anyone who has plans to do what I've done to this bookcase: never ever buy a bookcase from Officeworks! The dynamics of it is all wrong. When it's empty, it leans back, then when you fill it, it leans forward (thus you have to chock it to make it lean back). Then, if that's not bad enough, the shelves go all saggy from the get go!
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
Oh dear, not a happy case! I have some shelves that do the same thing so all up the middle I have bricks! Yes, red bricks to give an extra support. A pile of books that you seldom want to use would serve the same purpose. It mad a fun shot though!
@elizabeth I'm waiting for the day where I hear a huge CRASH coming from this room and find out it's the books' finally destroying the shelves by the continuous weight on them. :(
@weshook It sure is. Right on top of the case, it's double parked. So, what you see at the front isn't the whole lot. (but I have read some of them there). The next shelf below are all classics from around 1800's - 1900's. Then, the next shelf below that is all Autobiographies and biographies... then below that one (the one you can just see the tops of ) are my journals and diaries.
@mozette I could see that they're doubled...I used to do that too since the shelves that I used to have were so deep and it seemed like a lot of wasted space! I never organized them except by size though.
