At the Flicks!

Yesterday, Mum, Dad and I went to see 'Red Dog' at the Victoria Point Cineplex. This is the view I caught on my camera of the stage area; complete with full-length curtains, left and right wings and lovely plush seats right up to the front of the stage.... lovely and comfy.

And the film was fantastic! Worth seeing... now to read the book! :D
I heard it was a great movie. I must keep my eyes open for it here in the States.

@loey5150 Would you believe it, I didn't use a flash for this one... it's taken as is; no special affects or anything. :)

@digitalrn @loey5150 Thank you both for your lovely comments. I do love the curtains in old-fashioned theatres. I guess it's because I was brought up to go to them with my family. :)

Thanks for sharing this pic. Brings back fond memories of -real- movie theatres. Not the soul-less mega-plexes you find everywhere.

@beteljooz I remember down the coast - at Brunswick Heads - we used to see films at one of the very last movie houses which was run by an old lady. It had canvas sway-back seats and a wooden sloping floor. She'd stop the film if anyone started a food fight and threw them out without refunding their money. However, once she passed on, the movie house closed down too.

I recently read about a movie house kinda like that in Texas. They've got no problems with throwing out movie-talkers. They've made a few PSAs that let viewers know they discourage that kind of behaviour. The former Governor of Texas, the late great Ann Richards, was a movie buff and would often go to the theatre incognito. She even asked if she could be in one of their PSAs. The theatre happily agreed. What brought the theatre to my attention was a PSA they made not long ago featuring a recorded phone message from a drunken patron complaining about being thrown out.

Lesson? Never leave evidence of your drunken stupidity that can be used to mercilessly mock you on the internet...
