Here in Brisbane, we have a new system where we can hire bikes out from certain areas of the city. One of those stations is here on Roma Street; across the road from Roma Street Station.
I took this shot a few months back when I won a tour of Triple M Studios and brought Mum along with me... we both got photos of these bikes all lined up waiting to be used. The one thing missing is bike helmets; these you have to provide yourself.

I really think that's a great idea, and here in the States I do not think there is anything like that, at least in our area. I think it would be utilized quite frequently.
@digitalrn we've had this system for a little while now, but it's take a bit to take off. I think people are hesitant to use them opting for their cars instead of going green.
