Today, Triple M's morning show - The Cage - closed down for the last time. It was a touching, memory-filled show and I listened to a good few hours of it (as they usually began at 5:30am).
A few months back, I had to good fortune to win a tour of Triple M studios and a free 'Living End' cd for being a Music Jury Member. I took along my Mum and we had a ball! I also got to see inside The Cage's studio and Emily Jade's pink-studded mic, headphones and keyboard. It was a privilege to be there and I will never forget it!
I do think it's not good to close down such a popular show with these kinds of personalities in it; all of which do bounce off each other. I will miss them all due to their own special qualities; and seeing how short-a time the show had been running.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@digitalrn management didn't renew their contracts. I think it had to do with ratings. However, when they announced it on Wednesday (just two days ago), they received phone call after phone call of people who were so upset it was unbelievable.
Their Facebook page has been inundated with comments from their fans and Music Jury Members too. It's amazing.
@loey5150 I'm glad we got to see behind the scenes too... and I hope they do put on a show just as good. It was sad to see this one close down after such a short amount of time. The people of Brisbane got to know Ian Skippen, Emily Jade and Sully very well. Marto is staying on to begin the new show on Monday... he was upset this morning on the show as he was online from New Zealand and couldn't be in the studio. :(

You never know, they might have a show in mind with a similar format.
