Out to Work

Living next door to a fire station has its exciting times. On my birthday - on the way home from the post office - I was standing on the traffic island when the first of two engines came out and drove down Kingston road.

It was a really busy day for the station that day with all the engines out before midday - at least twice - and the carpark filled to the brim! Something big kept them all busy as hell! By the time I returned home that afternoon, the place was empty and quiet again.

These shots were taken when I had my sunnies on as I didn't have time to take them off... so they were all blind shots! :D
How excitement!

You caught some nice shots here. I bet the sirens drive you a bit crazy, especially in the middle of th enight.

@digitalrn Actually, we don't hear them all that much. There's been the odd moment where we have heard them really late at night, but I've been living next door to them for 9 years now, and have become accustomed to the sound of the place. It's extremely rare the place wakes me at night; but when it does, it's usually because there's a really bad fire out there.

@jacktion4 @digitalrn thank you both for you lovely comments. I've seen this station change so much over the last few years; and the guys who work there are so proud of the work they do as well. This particular station is one of the busiest fire stations in Brisbane; and so it's a very demanding place to be transferred to if you work at the Woodridge Fire Station.
