Cookin' Christmas Cake by mozette

Cookin' Christmas Cake

Yesterday, I was at Mum and Dad's place after going to the doctor's (which wasn't a great experience in itself. I didn't get the news I was hoping for from them). Anyway, Mum was cooking up her third Christmas Cake this year... yummo!

We already ate the first one. The second one is stored in its box and this one was still cooking in the oven when I was taken home that afternoon at around 6pm; just as the sun was going down.
She must be well known for her Christmas cakes, and sorry to hear about your doctor appointment. Hope all is well.

@digitalrn Mum found this great recipe to a wonderful cake (as Dad has been asking for a great cake that didn't taste like cardboard). So, Mum tracked one down and tried it out... well, it was delicious! So, she's been asked to make a few for Christmas... I think she's going to be as popular as my late-Grandma now as she used to make the most wonderful Christmas cakes each year... all the Christmasy goodies too. :D

@mozette It does sound like a gret cake, and I must ask, is it the same as a fruit cake? Here in the Statres we have those during the holidays. When it comes to cakes, my favorite is Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter icing. A friend of ours had a diner, and she gave us her recipe, it is out of this world.

@digitalrn Wow! That does sound delicious! Yes... ours is a fruit cake, but we put slice almonds (soaked in water overnight) on top and drizzle rum or brandy over it while it's still hot so it soaks it up... mmmmmmm yummo! :P
