Years ago, I did a painting titled 'Melting Flowers' because that's exactly what they did one weekend during Summer... they wilted and melted on the kitchen table as they died - despite having plenty of water and sugar in the water.
Last week, I decided to have a go at a close-up of one of the flowers from that painting - from memory - and have found that it's working out. So, I thought to pull out the old painting to fix up to sell it as a set with this one as a retrospective piece.
