On Thursday, I was walking home from being dropped off from my volunteer work when I passed my neighbour's house and noticed one of his solar lights were coated with these little dudes!
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@digitalrn On facebook, I've gotten a lot of criticism about them... people telling me that they destroy gardens and trees and that I should have killed them. I know what they do. So why are my friends treating me like I'm stupid? I'll never know.
I just took the photo because they were so tiny and cute... not because they'll cause damage.
Well Lynda, sometimes it is easier to ignore some of those comments than try to understand them. I think we all know the damage these critters can do, but then rabbits destroy our gardens, squirrels can make a mess out of a roof overhang, our dogs can chew our woodwork or other fine furniture, so we kill them too? it's a great picture.
I think this shot is great. You certainly don't often see this many grasshoppers that obviously were all born at the same time, all hanging out in the same place. Maybe your Facebook friends would have preferred a photo of squashed grasshoppers? :)
@shezza Actually, when I put it up on my facebook wall, I tagged it with my some of my friends' names on their own individual grasshopper... this photo was perfect for that kind of thing... a good laugh too. :D

Thanks for your great - and funny - comment. :D
