A little over a week ago, I was over at Mum and Dad's place nice and early to find a dead Rainbow Lorikeet in their front yard. He looked like he had run into one of the front windows only hours before and broken his neck. I took a quick look at him and unfortunately, he had... so I grabbed some plastic bags and picked him up to dispose of him.
First though, I just had to get some photos of his gorgeous feathers; as I don't get to be this close these lovely, cheeky birds.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@lluniau@digitalrn@cmt2812 Thank you all for your lovely comments. It is sad when we find any animal that's dead around our areas. A loss of life of any kind always tugs at my heart really hard, and this poor little bird was no different. However, the first thing I did was figure out how it died, not pull out my camera.... it wasn't until I had the plastic bags ready that I thought to take a few photos; as the light of the sun reflected off the feathers... showing me the colours which I normally miss as they're far too quick for us to catch when they're trying to trick us into thinking they're too smart for us.
