This morning, I was right into the housework. The washing got done and hung up on the clothes horse, the back door was open to let in the air (as the house was stuffy) and there was a cake baking in the oven for tomorrow's meditation group at New Farm Park (yeah, this time, I'm taking something home-made).
After vacuuming, I thought to put away the wiping up from last night. On the way to the kitchen, I pass the back door, and who should be sitting right next to it but a Kookaburra... and that big photo isn't zoomed in, that's just taken from my back door when I stepped out and he looked at me. :D

@sailingmusic Unfortunately, as I put the camera up to take that cool shot of him looking at me, he turned away and look up at the antenna in the distance... hahaha... it was a great shot nonetheless! :D
He also hopped over into my neighbours yard, pulled up a lawn grub, gobbled that down and grabbed something else out of the ground and ate that before flying away! :D
@sailingmusic@digitalrn@sanfil thank you all for your lovely comments. I didn't know I was going to get this close to this guy... isn't is just gorgeous? They're such a wonderful bird and I do miss them when I travel outside Australia (which hasn't been for a long time).
