During the week, I have a staple of rolled oats with cranberries cooked into it with milk and my vitamens. Pretty boring. But fortunately, when the weekends roll around, I have the choice of vegan-bacon and eggs with all the fixin's or pancakes... both come with plunger coffee!
This weekend, I did one on each day. On Saturday, I cooked up vegan-bacon and eggs and the coffee and today, Sunday, I cooked up a short stack of pancakes, poured organic maple syrup over the top and sprinkled some dried cranberries on there too!
Yep, one very delicious weekend of breakfasts for me! Pity I don't have anyone to share these with each morning.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
I am a big bacon fan, but it has been over a year since I've given up a lot of fats, and desserts, and breakfast has always been one of my favorite meals of the day.
@digitalrn Oh! Same here. I don't eat a lot of fatty desserts; so it's breakfast where I'd really get into the big meal of the day... I love making pancakes - as you can control how much sugar to put into them - and there's always fruit you can cook into them - and then the vegan-bacon is something you can cook until it's crunchy... and I love my eggs sunny side up and nice'n'runny! :D
And what's a breakfast without good plunger coffee? :P
@digitalrn@cmt2812@annelis@Weezilou thank you all for your lovely comments. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day; and why not make it most delicious? I remember at home at Mum and Dad's we'd have huge Sunday breakfasts that would last for over an hour or so... and we'd all end up having a late lunch - just a nice afternoon tea a little after 1pm or so instead of lunch - as we were still full from breakfast.
But I do love my breakfasts and my dinners... they're just wonderful times to eat. :)
