A Big Day Out! by mozette

A Big Day Out!

This morning, I had a few things planned - like catching up on some much-neglected housework. However, I was invited out to Toowoomba instead and I thought to catch up with it on the weekend.

So, off Mum, Dad and I went in the new Pajero this morning with all our warm gear ready to visit our friend in a nursing home, see his wife and daughter and have some lunch.
On the way there, we saw the big red Elephant, saw some of the areas where the floods hit when they rushed down from Toowoomba at a toilet stop; and what damage the water did to the trees (it's amazing what debris does to the surrounding area and trees; and how long it takes for them to recover).
On the way home, we dropped into the family cemetery at Allora where most of our ancestors are buried to say hi... Mum knows most of the people buried out that way. But I saw a lot of children's graves; and babies graves as well, which I found very sad.
We looked at the Allora Butter Factory, and found that Mum's Aunty Suzie's house was up for sale and had a look at the place.
I did notice one difference between the big city and country towns: there's no bars on the windows in country towns...

We plugged my ipod into the car stereo and found some jazz to listen to on the way home - some of Ella Fitzgerald's greatest hits went down well. And we arrived home around 8:30pm after eating at a truck stop. My meal is in the centre... and yeah, that's a hot chocolate; yummo. :)
Sounds like you had a wonderful day!
