My wonderful friend, Cate Black, was laid to rest today after passing away from Adrenal Gland Cancer. She was going to be 55 this year - too young to leave this place where she had many friends and so much to do as yet.
She was one of my closest friends and lived one street from my house; so I visited her frequently and called her most nights when there wasn't anything on the television (which was most nights over Christmas and over the last few months). I'm so happy I got the chance to be her friend now more than ever.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@bkbinthecity hehee.. nah... Mum and I went to the Buddhist temple down the road to get some peace, but it wasn't open. So, I took this photo of this building not far from the main building instead.
@bkbinthecity@digitalrn@cmt2812@cimes1 thank you all for your lovely comments. I'm missing my friend so much... and I hope her family are healing - as they are a really big family.
We will have to visit here again in the near future Lyn. Cate's ceremony was lovely - she was a wonderful person as you say, far too young to leave this earth.
So sorry to hear. Cancer has affected too many lives, yet it cannot diminish the quality of your friendship not as it was or in the memory. There it has no effect.
