Ged Maybury's Book Launch by mozette

Ged Maybury's Book Launch

Today I did a lot of things.

This morning, my family and some relatives and friends got together to remember Uncle Allan at a brunch at The Coffee Club at Stones Corner. It was lovely and almost all of us had Eggs Benedict! What a great morning of not having to wash up or cook.

Then, this afternoon, Mum, Dad and I spent a few hours at the Logan Arts Festival at the Kingston Butter Factory. At first, they were just going to drop me off, then they decided to stay and look around. It was a lovely, relaxing way to spend the afternoon, just looking at arty things and listening to literary programs for dis-advantaged kids that the Rotary Clubs are doing (like the Pajama Kids Program which helps kids who are behind in school to learn to read and with their maths so they can catch up with the rest of the class at school!).
Then, came my part in the festival. I was there to do a particular part for Ged Maybury. He had asked me to launch him and his book, 'Nosebleed', something I've never done before. However, I got in and wrote a speech - had Mum help me with the finishing touches - and then today, I stood up and gave it. I was nervous as hell, but then, I don't give speeches all the time... everyone laughed in the right places and Ged thought it was a great speech and thanked me very much!
Then, he dropped a huge surprise on us and launched not only his new 'Nosebleed' book, but also 'I Am Leatherman' which was published in 2001 and never really got launched properly. Ironically, I mentioned it in my speech as it was at that time I first met him... how's that for fate?

But I had a great day with my folks and they got to meet Ged and thought he was a real character... and he read parts of the first chapter to the audience; then sold quite a few of his books. I said my farewells for the afternoon, found Mum and Dad and we were off home.

A great day out and about... funny and wonderful too.
Well all around it sounds like it was quite the day of events. So what are the books about?

@digitalrn Wellll, 'Nosebleed' is a strange one... a little like Dr Who: nobody really knows what it's about, but it's a cool fun read where when you finish it, you think: 'What the heck did I just read?'

'I Am Leather-man' I haven't read; but the blurb doesn't give away much either.

'Touchstone' has a strange kind of blurb too... doesn't really give away much about the story, but sounds good.
