My Day Out by mozette

My Day Out

And what a day out it was indeed!

I was off to Beau Arts on Compton Road - only to find they've gone out of business. So, I found another place nearby which was closed for 20 minutes or I could call the owner on his mobile to get him to open the place for me... hmmm... not a good way to run an art supply store; especially on a Friday.

Anyway, I was off to Garden City and had a cement truck behind me. I love Mack Trucks! They're so cool! So, I took a photo of it in my rear view mirror. While I was waiting for the lights to change on Logan Road, I saw some birds having a dust bath (yeah, they're not dead... they just look like it :P ).
Then, I parked at Garden City, walked to Riot Art after going to the bank and then found Dolly Pegs! Yay! I found them! I bought 2 lots and some fast-drying glue to use for my magna-pegs and then I walked past QBD where I saw the book on the way to the art store and bought it... it was under $10, so I thought why not?
On the way home, I dropped into the Logan Art Gallery to give them some of my business cards to put up on their notice board; and Jillian did. She took one for herself and she wished me luck with my little business. I said that I have personalised pencils, spring-loaded pegs and dolly pegs so far; and I'm also turning the pegs that don't work out on one side, but do on the other into magnets for the fridge. She thinks I'll have a nice little business going for me. :D

I've just arrived home and now, it's still hot outside, but inside my house it's nice and cool. I have volunteered to work tomorrow to make up time from my forgotten shift from last week... it's a morning shift and so I'll be there early.

Phew! What a day!
Well lucky you. We are fortunate to have two art places in our town, Michaels and Hobby Lobby, both have so much to offer
