Today, I have the service guy coming around to fix the washing machine. It's been making a high-pitched singing noise on the spin cycle... this is a type of grinding which is harmless unless is goes the next key up; which it did the other day.
Now, it seems silly to get the guy out for a 12 year old machine, but it's either $135 now or $3,000 for a new gearbox.... or a new machine I don't really need to buy.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@digitalrn I think I might have gotten the price wrong there... when I chatted with the guy, he said it was more like $300... my memory from the last visit wasn't right at all. :P
Oh well.. but still, getting the service guy out is a lot cheaper than a new gearbox. :)
@wendyfrost ha! Mine was bought in 2002... still running well. :D
But then, I used Earth Choice laundry detergent, vinegar in the place of softener and bi-carb Soda for my towels... all my clothes are nice and clean and smell nice... my machine? Well, it's the cleanest one the guy had ever seen. It didn't leak anything onto the tiles and when he pulled the tub out, he told me it was spotless. :D

So, happy! :D
