Donation to the RSPCA

Today, I was very emotional.

It was my second visit to the RSPCA World Donation Centre at Springwood to try and donate Little Miss Stevie's old covers. They were nice and clean and had been sitting in her cupboard since Christmas 2012.... along with a bag of cuttlefish I had bought and she didn't want near her (because they were too big).

So, I parked the car and sat there for a bit trying to get myself to move... I just found it so hard let go. But I did it. I took the bag around the whole place with me before I took it to the counter... but I ended up crying anywhere, when the lady asked what was inside it.

She tried not to get emotional, because I think they see a lot of people who get so attached to their pets and then lose them and take a long time to donate their blankets and beds. I told her even if the covers go to a puppy or a kitten, they're nice and clean and new. And the cuttlefish hadn't been used as I mis-judged the size and never put it inside the cage.

She thanked me and I showed her a photo of Little Miss Stevie on my iPod; and she thought she was a cutie... I said that I'll get another bird, but not right now... it's just not the right time.
It is good for you to know they will be put to a good use but sad to lose a loved pet.

@wendyfrost @bkbinthecity @digitalrn Thank you all for your lovely comments. I did find it very hard to let go of her covers; and have felt a certain amount of loss because I did donate them... but if I didn't, it would become harder and harder to do. So, it was better if I did it now, than wait for later this year or even next year.
