Today, I was the moderator at the monthly sci-fi writer's group at the Hyperdome Library. This means I bring along coffee, tea, milo and cool things to munch on!
I took along real mugs to drink from and full-cream milk too... everyone loved how it was so homey and scoffed into the chocolate (a staple of every writer) and the nice coffee and milo too (yes, another staple of writers too).
We spent 2 hours chatting about main characters and writing, books and movies and other things - like shoes -- and ships -- and sealing wax -- Of cabbages -- and kings -- And why the sea is boiling hot -- And whether pigs have wings - and then before we knew it, it was time to go our separate ways... well until next time. :D
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@wendyfrost yeah, it was! We had a lot of fun over a nice cup of coffee and plenty of biscuits. Everyone was pleased to find I brought along real mugs, real milk and top range coffee... might be asked to be the nibblies person again next time. :D
@digitalrn Very true, Rick, very true! And I found that the last meeting I had with the Romance Writers, everyone loved the Tim-Tams I brought along, so I brought along very similar snacks, real milk (none of that long-life stuff in my cupboards) and everyone loved that they could get their hands warmed properly with proper mugs and not paper/cardboard ones... it also causes people to settle in feel more inclined to open up more creatively too - especially when you're part of a group of creative people. :D
