First off, it was stinking hot... so much so we were warned about some storms, but we didn't know about how bad they were going to be.
I had Mama-Mia Easter Markets to be at this afternoon... so off I went to them, taking a wet-weather poncho with me just in case I was packing (or unpacking) in the rain.
Well, I didn't unpack in the rain... but it was raining lightly when we did pack up after the big storm hit Brisbane. It absolutely poured rain in Logan where we really needed rain.
So, the outdoor market people couldn't make it - because it was so wet and the storm kept them at home - and there were no food retailers either also due to the wet. But we all had a good time and some of the public braved the wet - just like we did - to come and see us.
And we had a competition to see who could dress up their stalls in its Easter Best; and guess who won? Moi! I won a half-price stall rental for June! How cool is that?
My All Ages Lucky Dip went off with a bang with everyone - so that'll be a regular addition to my stall - and all the kiddies loved it that my chocolate Easter Eggs were cold when they picked them out of the basket (I put an ice pack in the bottom of the basket to keep them from melting in the heat!).
Well, it was early in the evening (only 6pm) and I had a killer of headache and hadn't eaten anything all afternoon because of there being no food retailers around. I dropped in on Mum and Dad, Gabe, Kat and Riley (as they were all getting together for dinner) and they were having a huge feed of curries and games... and we had fun eating, patting two gorgeous woofies (Jay and a new woofie called Caspian; who is only a year old, so still very much a puppy). We played a scrabble-like game called Banana-Peel until the rain backed off and I headed off home.
What a day! I backed the car into my car port and grabbed the essentials from it and locked it up... I'm unpacking it tomorrow... yep, I'm so very tired.
