Christmas 2016

My Christmas Day yesterday was good. For once it wasn't steaming hot. We had a couple of thunderstorms (which were just thunder and rain - nice!) and I plucked up the courage to visit my old Uniting Church after 25 years of avoiding the place (the last pastor kicked me out for wanting to find my own path in life - and do to that, I felt I needed to leave the church for a few years; he didn't understand and ostracised me publicly). I was okay until I looked inside the church itself, I just couldn't go inside - it's my past. I don't know if I can return to the church again.

Anyway, I listened to the service from the lounge outside. It was nice and light; not too focused. I didn't stick around, I talked to a few people and they were lovely too.

But lunch was waiting at my folks' house and I so before the pastor came out, to see me, I was off again. My car was full of presents and the esky/cooler was full of food.
We did the present-giving before lunch as the rain poured outside and then, we enjoyed chilling out for the afternoon before I came home and used my presents.

Yep, a great Christmas Day.
