Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@susiemc I couldn't get my head around it when I was younger. But when I was diagnosed with epilepsy, it was as though a switch flipped in my head... I was going to art galleries, picked up a paint brush and started painting. And you know it's strange, my art teacher in high school told me 'there's an artist hiding inside you, but the key doesn't fit the lock - not yet. Give it time.' He was right.
@mozette That’s a really interesting story although I’m sorry you’ve been diagnosed with epilepsy. Is it under control? My youngest daughter, Martha, was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was 19 so I’m familiar with the condition.
@susiemc I was born with the disease, and have lived with it off and on throughout my life. As I have aged, my medications have changed. I had no problems through high school, until I hit year 11, and I started zoning out because of the stress.
But I've been ask to hang up the keys from driving for my own safety, and others... and I did for 20 years. I lived with my folks for years for my safety, and moved out because Dad and I locked horns, and now? Well, after being tested for the surgery, and am not a candidate, I was put on different medications, went to other neurologists, and found one who told me outright, 'you're on the wrong medications, and too heavy as well.' She adjusted and changed it all in 2004, and I'm controlled now... even through being so ill last year, and any big stress I'm going through currently with my neighbour, and menopause... I'm still seizure free.
