On her last Christmas, my mother in law gave us a jar of pure maple syrup. She had passed away by the time we finished it, but since her handwriting was on the gift tag attached to the jar, we weren't ready to toss it away.
When I got the scrub brushes, i needed something to keep them in. When I ran across the jar, I realized it could sit in a cabinet and probably break in a freak accident, or I could use it, smile when I see the signature and yes, probably break it in a freak accident. But, at least it would have made me smile until that time.
